In India, the Quantum Computing Applications Lab (QCAL), a partnership between the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and AWS, announced its intent to bolster scientific research and industry engagement for its second cohort. This initiative will receive new support from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India, as well as Indian advanced technology consultancies and AWS Partners Mphasis and Fractal. The MeitY QCAL will accept applications for the second cohort later this month.

AWS has disclosed the 10 finalists for the 2022 AWS Healthcare Accelerator aimed at advancing health equity. This year’s cohort introduced innovative concepts that will enhance access to care, provide actionable health equity data, increase medical transport availability, and assist unhoused individuals in reaching their housing and health objectives. Throughout the four-week Accelerator program, these 10 startups will receive technical and business mentorship from AWS and KidsX experts, along with up to $25,000 in AWS Computing Credits.
