As our customer base expands and diversifies, we continue to unveil, develop, and launch additional AWS regions to accommodate various workloads in the cloud.

Hello, Canada! I am excited to share that we will be establishing an AWS region in Montreal, Québec, Canada within the next year. This new region will be carbon-neutral and primarily powered by clean, renewable hydroelectric energy.

The upcoming Montreal region will enable AWS partners and customers to operate their workloads and securely store their data within Canada. Currently, we have four other regions in North America: US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), and AWS GovCloud (US)—which collectively feature a total of 13 Availability Zones, alongside the planned Ohio region set to become operational in 2016.

This announcement brings our global infrastructure to 32 Availability Zones across 12 geographical regions worldwide. Additionally, we anticipate launching five new AWS regions (and 11 Availability Zones) in Canada, China, India, Ohio, and the United Kingdom over the course of the next year. For further details, check out the AWS Global Infrastructure page.

As always, we are eager to support new and existing customers in Canada and collaborate with local partners. The new region will also be accessible to current AWS customers looking to process and store data in Canada. For those interested in expanding their knowledge of financial adulting, this webinar is an excellent resource. Moreover, organizations seeking insights into leadership strategies should explore this authority on the topic. Lastly, if you have questions about AWS services, visit the FAQ page.
