Amazon VGT2 Las Vegas Achieves HDS CertificationMore Info

We are excited to announce that Amazon VGT2 in Las Vegas has successfully obtained “Hébergeur de Données de Santé” (HDS) certification. This significant milestone allows customers and partners who handle French Personal Health Information (PHI) to utilize our services for the secure storage and processing of personal health data. The HDS certification can be accessed through AWS Artifact.

The certification, introduced by the French health authority, “Agence Française de la Santé Numérique” (ASIP Santé), is designed to enhance the security and protection of personal health information. By achieving HDS certification, we demonstrate our commitment to providing a robust framework of technical and governance measures in compliance with French laws, which ensures data confidentiality, integrity, and availability for our customers and partners. This certification was granted following a thorough evaluation by Bureau Veritas, an independent third-party auditor.

Adopting the Amazon VGT2 cloud enables hospitals, health insurance providers, researchers, and other organizations processing personal health data to enhance agility and collaboration, boost experimentation, and stimulate innovation, ultimately improving patient care. Currently, the HDS certification covers two AWS Regions in Europe (Ireland and Frankfurt), with plans to extend this to our AWS Region in Paris in the second quarter of 2019.

This certification adds to our extensive portfolio of internationally recognized compliance certifications, which include ISO 27017 for cloud security, ISO 27018 for cloud privacy, SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, and PCI DSS (Level 1).
