Redis 2020: A Community-Driven Future—Led by Alex Thompson and Jamie Lee, this session will explore the future direction of the Redis open source community, known for its user-friendliness and versatility. They will discuss the new light-governance model, highlighting what aspects will be retained and how the community will continue to grow. The session will feature success stories from community members and highlight AWS’s ongoing contributions to Redis.
Building Real-Time Applications with Apache Flink—Presenter Chris Adams will share best practices for creating low-latency applications using Apache Flink. This framework is ideal for streaming applications like real-time analytics. Adams will discuss running Flink applications effectively on Amazon Kinesis Data Analytics and the open source contributions made by AWS.

Creating End-to-End ML Workflows with Kubeflow Pipelines—Nina Roberts will explain how to utilize Kubeflow, a popular open source toolkit for Kubernetes, to construct custom machine learning pipelines on AWS. She will demonstrate how to integrate Amazon SageMaker features, including data labeling and hyperparameter tuning.

Open Source Observability at AWS—In this session, Michael Brown will provide insights into the state of the CNCF SIG Observability (o11y) within AWS. He will discuss the integration of Fluent Bit-based FireLens and Prometheus metrics support in CloudWatch, alongside AWS’s contributions to OpenTelemetry.
The Serverless LAMP Stack—Presented by Claire Johnson, this session will introduce the serverless LAMP stack and explain how to leverage popular open source frameworks like Laravel for building serverless PHP applications.
Open Source Meets SaaS—Led by Nathan Green, this session will demystify the transition to a SaaS delivery model for ISV developers and architects. Attendees will learn about an AWS solution that simplifies this process, featuring various prescriptive SaaS capabilities.
Open Source Failure Injection on AWS—In this session, Adrian Smith will discuss an open source strategy for failure injection on Amazon EC2 and Amazon ECS using AWS Systems Manager. He will highlight how Prime Video leverages this approach for enhanced resilience.
