For over 150 years, Children’s National Hospital has been dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of children globally. Now ranked among the top 10 children’s hospitals in the nation, it is reshaping pediatric medicine for children everywhere. Recently, the hospital inaugurated the Children’s National Research & Innovation Campus (CNRIC). During a recent keynote at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Public Sector Partners Forum, I emphasized the importance of “celebrating, listening, and acting on your input.” This customer-centric approach reflects our commitment to AWS Partners and clients. I shared captivating stories from our AWS Public Sector Partners along with various programs designed to expedite missions, migrations, and modernization. We are also pleased to announce the selection of 10 finalists for the inaugural AWS Healthcare Accelerator program. Chosen from 427 applications spanning 31 countries, these companies represent a diverse range of healthcare solutions, with 90% showcasing diverse leadership and 70% being female-founded. These finalists are tackling many pressing challenges faced by AWS healthcare customers.

Additionally, AWS is rolling out a new global program aimed at organizations seeking to enhance health outcomes and promote health equity in underserved communities. We are providing AWS credits and technical expertise, committing $40 million over three years to support the development of solutions that can improve health outcomes.

On a related note, National Voter Registration Day, celebrated in the U.S., aims to register one million new voters by 2022. To achieve this, state and local governments, along with nonprofit civic organizations, are leveraging digital platforms powered by AWS to modernize and simplify the voter registration process.

Furthermore, with the acquisition of Wickr in June 2021, AWS now offers a secure and compliant solution for protecting organizational communications. Wickr provides advanced security features that traditional communication services do not, enabling security-conscious enterprises and government agencies to implement essential governance and security controls.
