Modern data engineering encompasses several critical elements in developing a contemporary data lake. Traditional databases and data warehouses frequently fall short in accommodating a DevOps framework. DataOps emerged from the challenges of constructing scalable, reusable data pipelines in an automated way. By applying DevOps principles to data lakes, educational institutions can create automated solutions more efficiently. At the California State University Chancellors Office (CSUCO), we adopted a novel approach by aligning our logic with a programming framework that facilitates a testable environment. AWS IAM Identity Center allows administrators to manage access across multiple AWS accounts within an AWS Organization. Users can authenticate and access all their accounts from a unified interface. Using IAM Identity Center as a SAML identity provider enhances security since user credentials provided through federation are temporary. However, it’s essential to note that IAM Identity Center does not automatically recognize AWS GovCloud (US) accounts linked to standard AWS accounts in your Organization. Therefore, it cannot be used for automatic provisioning access for users in an AWS GovCloud environment. For an excellent resource on this topic, visit this link.
