We’re thrilled to share exciting news about the launch of a new service, Amazon GameSparks. As highlighted during our AWS GDC keynote, this managed service provides essential backend tools for creating, managing, and scaling games. With Amazon GameSparks, developers can shift their focus away from backend complexities and devote their efforts to crafting exceptional player experiences. Drawing insights from the original GameSparks, we have meticulously designed the new Amazon GameSparks from the ground up using AWS primitives, ensuring it is tailored for cloud scalability and fully integrated with AWS and Amazon services.
Listening to Our Customers
Recognizing the diverse landscape of game developers—from established AAA studios to budding creators just starting out—we have actively gathered feedback and listened to our customers. Our aim is to equip Amazon GameSparks with the right tools to streamline backend development. Users have expressed appreciation for GameSparks in terms of its simplicity, flexibility, and configurability. Additionally, they emphasized the necessity for a solution that can scale to millions of players globally, maintaining low latency and high availability. In response, we developed Amazon GameSparks as an AWS service that includes configurable backend features such as Identity, Authentication, Economy, Player Progression, and Cloud Code, making it accessible for those with limited cloud expertise.
