Shared Services Canada (SSC) serves as the primary IT service provider for the Canadian federal government. It offers infrastructure services covering email, data centers, telecommunications, and workplace technology devices for 43 federal agencies. Currently, SSC manages around 700 data centers that support approximately 14,000 applications. To address future government demands, SSC intends to enhance efficiencies and expand their computing capacity through data center modernization and consolidation, in addition to adopting cloud computing between 2017 and 2024.
