Launched in 2018, the APN Customer Engagements (ACE) program was designed to empower AWS Partners in cultivating customer relationships and achieving successful outcomes on Amazon Web Services (AWS). As a component of the AWS Partner Network (APN), qualifying AWS Partners can access AWS Lead and Opportunity Referrals through the ACE Pipeline Manager available in APN Partner Central.
The ACE Pipeline Manager equips partners with essential resources, tools, and support to enhance their engagements with AWS customers. Recently, we’ve introduced an improved submission process for AWS Partners participating in the ACE program, which streamlines the submission of customer opportunities while eliminating the need to include customer contact details.
The ACE Pipeline Manager serves as an exclusive advantage for AWS Partners within the program, allowing them to efficiently manage their AWS customer pipeline and collaborate closely with AWS on various engagements. Eligible partners can submit, track, and oversee information related to their customer interactions on AWS.
What’s New?
As of December 10, 2020, the APN Customer Engagements (ACE) program has introduced two significant enhancements for AWS Partners:
NEW! AWS Referred Opportunities No Longer Auto-Close
To provide AWS Partners with more flexibility in updating AWS-referred opportunities, we have disabled the automatic closure feature for these opportunities after a 60-day period of inactivity. Opportunities referred after October 21, 2020, will no longer auto-close. It’s important to keep updating all AWS opportunities to ensure effective collaboration and co-selling with AWS Sales.
NEW! Updated Industry List on Submission Form
The industry list on the opportunity submission form in the ACE Pipeline Manager has been refined for simplicity, consolidating various industry verticals. For more insights on these improvements and how to utilize them, please check the updated APN Customer Engagements Pipeline Manager User Guide in the ‘Contents’ tab on Partner Central.
Previous Program Enhancements
Advanced and Premier Tier Partners are now eligible for the ACE program. This eligibility allows them to bolster the AWS and partner co-selling dynamic across customer opportunities, regardless of their origin. Those who qualify and have accepted ACE terms since August 19, 2020, have been granted this opportunity.
To assist AWS Partners in submitting and updating opportunities, the AWS Pricing Calculator and ACE Opportunity Submission Quick Guides are now accessible within the ACE Pipeline Manager. This will enhance your experience and streamline the submission process.
Furthermore, we have made updates to lead and opportunity views in the ACE Pipeline Manager for improved visibility on items needing action. For comprehensive details, refer to the APN Customer Engagements Pipeline Manager User Guide in the “Contents” section on Partner Central.
On July 31, 2020, we launched the ACE CRM Integration, a new feature for all ACE-eligible AWS Partners. This integration minimizes the manual workload associated with managing AWS Pipeline data across different systems and is compatible with any CRM platform, utilizing Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3) for seamless data sharing.
With the new integration, AWS Partners can perform actions directly from their CRM, such as:
- Create and submit AWS Opportunities to ACE.
- Accept or decline AWS Lead Referrals.
- Accept or reject AWS Opportunity Referrals.
- Send and receive updates on AWS Leads and validated AWS Opportunities.
The benefits of the ACE CRM integration include:
- Nearly real-time updates between the AWS internal CRM and your existing CRM, facilitating better collaboration with AWS sellers.
- Simplified opportunity management, enabling you to create, submit, and receive opportunities more efficiently.
- Enhanced account planning through increased visibility into the AWS seller landscape and improved reporting capabilities.
For detailed information on how to leverage the ACE CRM Integration, refer to the 1-Pager on APN Partner Central. For further guidance, you can reach out to your APN representative.
Additionally, the Delivery Model field was introduced on January 17, 2020, to categorize opportunity submissions based on the consumption or deployment model. This ensures that AWS Partners receive appropriate credit for opportunity-related requirements in APN programs.
Lastly, we launched features such as custom views and bulk transfer capabilities in the ACE Pipeline Manager to facilitate easier management of leads and opportunities within AWS Partner organizations. These features allow partners to create tailored views and transfer opportunities in bulk, simplifying the experience of working with AWS.
