Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner
With this toolkit, building a Salesforce application that integrates Amazon S3 for storing images or documents, or utilizing Amazon EC2 for running parts of the application using PHP, has never been easier. The toolkit is packaged as an EC2 AMI available for download.
Innovative Applications Developed
Several innovative applications have already been developed and are available on Salesforce’s AppExchange, even before the toolkit’s official release. Some notable examples include:
- Appirio Cloud Storage for Salesforce: This application enables users to efficiently store unlimited files in Amazon S3 directly through the Salesforce interface. It creates a Custom File Object in Salesforce that includes the name, description, and secure link to each document, allowing users to continue uploading and retrieving documents as they normally would.
- DoX for AppExchange: This tool helps users locate and share documents, regardless of their storage location, including Amazon S3.
- FTP Attachments: Another example of the “store anywhere” approach, with Amazon S3 being one of the supported options.
The ease of integrating these tools is a catalyst for developer innovation!
