According to Gartner, by 2025, 85% of large enterprises in developed economies are expected to adopt container management due to the increasing prevalence of cloud-native applications and infrastructure. Public sector entities stand to gain significantly from containerization, which enhances the development of mission-critical applications by providing superior fault tolerance and agility, facilitating application migration across various platforms, and modernizing legacy systems. To support AWS Partners in creating containerized applications for public sector organizations, Amazon Web Services (AWS) is proud to announce the launch of the AWS Containers Rapid Adoption Assistance (CRAA) initiative.

Overview of the AWS Containers Rapid Adoption Assistance (CRAA) Initiative

The AWS CRAA initiative provides AWS Partners with an automated approach to connect with AWS experts, enabling the creation and deployment of AWS solutions utilizing containers. As part of this initiative, the AWS team offers technical expertise and practical guidance to partners, thereby expediting the deployment of solutions for public sector clients.

Participating partners receive technical support through a structured three-phase process. The first phase, centered on envisioning, allows partners to explore AWS container services with the help of an AWS expert, who will understand the partners’ objectives and facilitate a brainstorming session to develop a roadmap for competency and adoption. The second phase, focused on enablement, continues to educate partners to assist them in implementing their designs. In the third phase, centered on building, AWS Partners commence constructing their solutions with direct technical support and guidance from AWS, culminating in the completion of a proof of concept. During this phase, qualified partners may be eligible for AWS Promotional Credit to help mitigate training and development expenses.

How to Get Involved with the AWS Containers Rapid Adoption Assistance Initiative

To embark on this initiative, simply fill out the interest form for the AWS Containers Rapid Adoption Assistance. Following your submission, the AWS team will assess your specific use case. If selected, you will receive further communication from AWS within three business days outlining the next steps.

If your organization is not yet registered with the AWS Partner Network (APN), you can join at no cost by creating an AWS Partner Central Account. Once registered, you can become a member of the AWS Public Sector Partner (PSP) Program.

Why Opt for Containers?

Containerization enhances application quality, portability, agility, security, efficiency, and fault isolation—making it an excellent choice for mission-critical workloads. Containers support the fundamental aspects of microservices architecture, such as componentization, decentralized data management, and heightened agility. The abstraction from the host operating system ensures that containerized applications can run consistently across any platform or cloud, enabling the “write once, run anywhere” paradigm. This portability accelerates development, offers robust fault isolation, simplifies security, and facilitates the migration of applications to the AWS Cloud.

Why Choose AWS for Container Solutions?

Whether you are migrating existing containerized applications to Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (Amazon EKS), or refactoring monolithic applications into a container-based architecture, AWS provides comprehensive support. Our extensive array of services, technologies, and tools for building applications on containers is complemented by strong integrations with open-source and AWS Partner technologies.

For those developing AWS native solutions, Amazon ECS significantly reduces the time required to build, deploy, or migrate containerized applications. Amazon EKS combines the flexibility of Kubernetes with the security and reliability of AWS-managed services, ideal for creating highly available services.

AWS Partners familiar with OpenShift can expedite their application development by utilizing familiar OpenShift APIs and tools for deployments on AWS. The Red Hat OpenShift Service on AWS (ROSA) allows you to run containerized applications while streamlining management by transferring cluster lifecycle responsibilities to Red Hat and AWS.

For public sector clients and partners managing hybrid workloads, Amazon ECS Anywhere enables you to run and manage container workloads on customer-managed infrastructure. This ensures consistent cluster management, workload scheduling, and monitoring, akin to what you expect from Amazon ECS. Similarly, for those utilizing Kubernetes on-premises, Amazon EKS Anywhere allows for the creation and operation of Kubernetes clusters on customer-managed infrastructure, backed by AWS support.

Existing AWS Public Sector Partners seeking assistance with a defined container-based solution or pursuing a qualified opportunity with an agency can promptly apply for the AWS Containers Rapid Adoption Assistance initiative.
