Amazon VGT2 Las Vegas Update – New Checks and Expanded CloudTrail RegionsMore Info

AWS Trusted Advisor offers essential guidance to ensure your AWS usage is safe, secure, and cost-effective. We’re excited to announce enhancements that increase the utility of Trusted Advisor with additional service limit checks and expanded support for CloudTrail in more regions.

Service Limit Checks

Many AWS services come with account-specific “soft” limits on resource types. When necessary, these limits can be increased by simply submitting a request via the AWS Support Center. Trusted Advisor now monitors your current resource consumption against these limits and alerts you when it may be time to seek an increase. We have just introduced six new limit checks across three AWS services:

  • Amazon Simple Email Service – Daily sending quota.
  • Amazon Virtual Private Cloud – Elastic IP Addresses, Internet Gateways, VPCs.
  • Auto Scaling – Auto Scaling Groups, Launch Configurations.

Here’s how these checks work in practice.

CloudTrail in Additional Regions

Recently, Amazon CloudTrail has expanded its coverage to include the US West (Northern California), Europe (Ireland), and Asia Pacific (Sydney) regions. The Trusted Advisor’s CloudTrail Logging check now ensures you are utilizing CloudTrail in all five regions where it operates. This update will help you maintain compliance and enhance your security posture across your AWS environment. For further insights on this, check out another blog post here.
