In an age where government agencies and public sector entities require swift and reliable security solutions to fulfill their missions, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has introduced the Security Solutions for Government Workloads initiative. This initiative, part of the Authority to Operate (ATO) on AWS Program, collaborates closely with AWS Public Sector Partners to create security solutions tailored to the specific security and compliance needs of public sector workloads.
The initiative presents six partner-designed offerings aimed at supporting particular customer workload types:
- Remote Workforce Security: This solution offers comprehensive security features that empower remote and onsite workers, educators, and government officials to collaborate seamlessly within a secure and pre-configured platform.
- Web Portal Security: These solutions are designed to safeguard government web applications, internal databases, and websites by offering integrated security tools that provide clients with pre-built mechanisms to protect and monitor their AWS environments.
These repeatable solutions are managed and configured by AWS Public Sector Partners and can be accessed either through the AWS Security Solutions for Government Workloads team or directly from the partners listed on the dedicated website. We are also working to present these solutions as AWS Quick Starts, accompanied by “Consulting Offers” in our AWS Solutions Library, where it’s feasible. This approach ensures global scalability while allowing for necessary local customizations.
What are the Key Benefits?
The solutions, developed by partners, are crafted with security at their core. With pre-configured security mechanisms, they assist customers in meeting stringent compliance standards such as FedRAMP, DoD Security Requirements Guide, and GDPR, among others pertinent to the public sector. For a more detailed list, please refer to the program’s website.
The ATO on AWS Program has initially partnered with six trusted organizations to deliver cost-effective and rapidly deployable solutions, including TechGuard and SecureCloud Solutions. We anticipate expanding this roster to provide an even more robust selection of security partner solutions to our public sector clients.
“Given our deep expertise in the public sector, we are thrilled to support the ATO on AWS Program’s initiative aimed at deploying security solutions tailored for government workloads. Our SecureWatch Cloud Security Platform is specifically designed to help customers navigate the complex security and compliance landscape. With numerous deployments across various government sectors, we remain committed to supporting the ATO on AWS Program to reduce compliance costs and enhance public sector security,” stated Alex Jacobs, Principal at TechGuard.
“Being an APN Advanced Tier Consulting Partner and ATO on AWS Partner, SecureCloud Solutions advises numerous defense contractors to help them meet their compliance obligations. We have aided a variety of cloud service providers with FedRAMP and DoD Cloud Computing Accreditation. The Security Solutions for Government Workloads initiative is a pivotal step in connecting AWS Partners with consumers while balancing the demonstration of innovative solutions with a framework for standardization and reuse. We are currently developing two solutions for this initiative and look forward to continuing our support to clients by embedding security into their AWS environments,” commented Sarah Williams, Chief Operating Officer at SecureCloud Solutions.
