Upcoming AWS Events on the East Coast – April 2010Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner

As we head into April, I wanted to share details about several AWS events taking place on the East Coast of the United States:

Rochester AWS User Group

I will be presenting at the Rochester AWS User Group at 6:00 PM on Monday, April 5th. My presentation will highlight the latest advancements in AWS technology, including the Virtual Private Cloud and the Relational Database Service.

New York City Cloud Computing Group

On Tuesday, April 6th, I will talk at the New York City Cloud Computing Group at 6:00 PM. The focus will again be on VPC and RDS, so don’t miss it!

Emerging Tech for the Enterprise Conference

Next, I’ll be attending the Emerging Tech for the Enterprise conference in Philadelphia on April 9th. I am particularly excited about this visit to my hometown! If you plan to be at ETE, please come say hi and check out the session by Chris Cera and David Brussin discussing Enterprise Cloud Computing: Pitfalls, Puzzles, and Great Rewards.

RubyNation Conference

To conclude my East Coast tour, I will be speaking at the RubyNation conference in Reston, Virginia, on Saturday, April 10th. I fondly remember my time in Reston, back when the unofficial motto was “We’re not dead, we’re Reston.” The area has seen significant growth since then, and I look forward to reconnecting with old friends and colleagues.

Mechanical Turk Meetup

Additionally, there will be a Mechanical Turk Meetup in New York at 6:00 PM on April 13th. This is a great opportunity to learn about Mechanical Turk’s global on-demand workforce, share best practices, connect with existing Requesters, and engage with the Mechanical Turk team. Be sure to preregister for this event.

PegaWORLD Conference

Terry Wise, Director of Business Development for Amazon Web Services, will be presenting at PegaWORLD in Philadelphia on April 26th. Terry will discuss how Tenet Healthcare utilizes Pegas Cloud Computing solutions to significantly enhance their business process applications, achieving a fivefold reduction in delivery time and costs. For those interested, discounted registrations for the conference can be found here.
