I’ve been traveling lately and fell behind on my weekly updates. Below is a summary of the happenings from late October; I’ll cover additional content (including code updates, presentations, videos, and events) in the upcoming post for the week of November 9th.

Monday, October 26

  • We introduced the New EC2 Run Command for managing remote instances at scale.
  • Updates were made to the AWS SDK for Java, AWS CLI, AWS SDK for Ruby, AWS SDK for Go, and AWS for JavaScript.
  • The Hack.FoolAround.Repeat blog provided insights on how to retrieve the internal IP of an AWS Instance.

Tuesday, October 27

  • A new AWS public data set featuring real-time and archived NEXRAD weather data was launched.

  • The AWS Partner Network Blog highlighted Rancher Labs’ support for Amazon EC2 Container Service.
