In this post, we’re excited to share the latest offerings from Amazon Web Services (AWS) Training and Certification for May 2022. These new digital courses cater to cloud enthusiasts, AWS customers, and AWS Partners, focusing on essential cloud concepts, networking, compute, container management, and auditing tasks. Additionally, we have classroom training options available for those interested in securing workloads on AWS Cloud and developing a data warehousing solution. There are also updates related to certifications for Advanced Networking – Specialty, Solutions Architect – Professional, and SAP on AWS – Specialty.
AWS Digital Training
FutureLearn introduces two fundamental courses on cloud essentials. Both are 19-hour courses aimed at helping individuals in both technical and non-technical roles achieve their career goals.
- For Technical Roles: The AWS Cloud Technical Essentials course provides insights into building, comparing, and applying highly-available, fault-tolerant, and scalable cloud solutions, requiring no prior knowledge of AWS services.
- For Non-Technical Roles: The AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials course covers core AWS services, equipping non-technical professionals to contribute to their organization’s cloud efforts.
Networking Services Basics
The AWS Networking Basics course, a 90-minute fundamental offering, is designed for cloud architects, network engineers, operations personnel, and developers, providing a thorough overview of AWS networking services.
Compute Options Overview
Two 40-minute fundamental courses about AWS compute options are available for cloud architects, DevOps engineers, and developers:
- The AWS Compute Services Overview course reviews differences between Amazon EC2, containers, and serverless technologies, helping learners choose the right option for their workloads.
- The AWS Compute EC2 Basics course offers insights into Amazon EC2 options for informed decision-making.
Updated Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) Primer
The revised Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS) Primer is an intermediate 75-minute course for cloud architects, developers, and DevOps engineers focusing on container management and orchestration with Amazon EKS. It covers how EKS manages the Kubernetes control plane, integrates with AWS services, and includes cost and monitoring considerations. Prior completion of the Introduction to Containers course is recommended.
Auditing in AWS Cloud
The Getting Started with AWS CloudTrail course is a 60-minute introduction for cloud administrators, architects, engineers, security experts, DevOps roles, and AWS Partners, detailing how to construct a governance solution for AWS and utilize CloudTrail for monitoring, storing, and authenticating events, as well as identifying security incidents.

Securing AWS Cloud Workloads
For those looking to maintain a secure posture in the AWS Cloud, two one-day intermediate courses are available: AWS Security Best Practices (Customers, Amazonians) and AWS Partner: Security Best Practices (Technical). These courses are aimed at architects and engineers tasked with securing workloads, diving deep into configuration best practices for network infrastructure and compute resources. Familiarity with AWS services and a strong background in information security is necessary prior to enrollment.
Building Data Warehousing Solutions
The AWS Partner: Building Data Analytics Solutions Using Amazon Redshift (Technical) is a one-day intermediate course for data warehouse engineers and architects focused on integrating Amazon Redshift with data lakes to support analytics and machine learning. Participants should have completed AWS Cloud Practitioner Essentials and other relevant courses before enrolling.
AWS Certification Updates
- Solutions Architect – Professional Exam Update: Beginning November 15, 2022, the exam will be updated to align with the AWS Well-Architected Framework. Exam takers should complete the current version by November 14, 2022.
- Advanced Networking – Specialty Exam Registration: The new exam will be available starting July 12, 2022, with registration opening on June 14. The updated content includes new topics related to AWS networking advancements.
- SAP on AWS – Specialty Certification: Free practice question sets are now available in multiple languages, providing an excellent resource for exam preparation.
