Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner
We are excited to announce that AWS Marketplace is now live in the AWS China (Ningxia) Region and AWS China (Beijing) Region, managed by Ningxia Western Cloud Data Technology Co., Ltd. (NWCD). This development allows customers in China to explore and access a wide range of software offerings from Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) directly through the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) console, enabling quick provisioning with just a few clicks. ISVs will also benefit from a more efficient sales channel to connect with customers in the region. Initially, the launch includes subscriptions for free and bring your own license (BYOL) Amazon Machine Image (AMI) products via the Amazon EC2 console, with plans to expand the website and product types shortly.
How It Works
To utilize AWS services in China, customers must first create an AWS (China) Account. Using the Launch Instance wizard on the Amazon EC2 console, users can easily search for and subscribe to available software on AWS Marketplace China in mere minutes.
- Log in to the AWS Management Console.
- Select Amazon EC2 to access the console.
- Click on Launch Instance.
- For Step 1: Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI), select your desired Region – either AWS China (Beijing) or AWS China (Ningxia). Refer to the image below for assistance.
- In the Quick Start pane, you can either search for your preferred AMIs by keywords or select AWS Marketplace to browse through categories.
- When you select a product, you will be directed to its listing page, which contains details on pricing, usage, support, EULA, and terms and conditions. After reviewing this information, if you wish to subscribe, click Continue. You will be taken back to the Launch Instance wizard.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to finalize the Launch Instance process. In Step 5: Add Tags, we recommend tagging your instance for easy identification of those launched through AWS Marketplace China.
