I am pleased to share that the demo for Practical DynamoDB Programming in Java presented during AWS re:Invent 2015 is now accessible on GitHub. This project illustrates how Amazon DynamoDB can be integrated with AWS Lambda to facilitate both real-time and batch analysis of domain-specific data. Real-time analysis leverages DynamoDB streams as an event source for a Lambda function, while batch processing employs the parallel scan operation in DynamoDB to distribute tasks to Lambda efficiently.

To download the project, you can clone it from GitHub using the following command:

git clone https://github.com/awslabs/reinvent2015-practicaldynamodb.git .

Make sure to follow the instructions in the README file and explore the demo code. You’ll discover how straightforward it is to utilize the AWS Toolkit for Eclipse to upload AWS Lambda functions and invoke them using the AWS SDK for Java.
