JSON Structured Logging for .NET Lambda Functions
We are thrilled to introduce JSON structured logging for .NET Lambda Functions. This enhancement ensures that the .NET managed runtime aligns with the previously established logging controls for AWS Lambda, allowing you to adjust logging formats and levels conveniently via the Lambda API. This format, which structures log messages as JSON documents, greatly simplifies searching, filtering, and analyzing logs.
Developer Preview of DynamoDB Mapper for Kotlin
In another exciting development, we are proud to announce the Developer Preview of DynamoDB Mapper for Kotlin. This high-level library provides an intuitive way for developers to map their Kotlin business logic to DynamoDB tables. The DynamoDB Mapper seamlessly works with most Kotlin data classes right out of the box and boasts powerful features for advanced data handling.
General Availability of the AWS SDK for Swift
Furthermore, we are pleased to declare the General Availability of the AWS SDK for Swift, designed specifically for accessing Amazon Web Services from Swift applications. This SDK offers a contemporary, user-friendly interface tailored for Apple platforms, AWS Lambda, and Linux-based Swift environments.
Enhancements with OpenTelemetry Support
In our ongoing commitment to enhancing observability, the AWS SDK for .NET has integrated significant enhancements with OpenTelemetry support starting from version 3.7.400. This industry-standard observability framework allows developers to gain deeper insights into application behavior, from tracking API call durations to monitoring vital system metrics.
Updates on Linux Distribution Support for AWS CLI v2
Additionally, we are sharing updates regarding Linux distribution support for AWS CLI v2. This new policy is effective from September 16, 2024, and applies specifically to Linux distributions based on the GNU C Library (glibc).
Upcoming Major Version 5 of AWS Tools for PowerShell
Lastly, we want to inform the AWS PowerShell community about the upcoming major version 5 of AWS Tools for PowerShell. The current version, AWS Tools for PowerShell V4, is built on the AWS SDK for .NET V3, and we are excited about the improvements this new version will bring.
