Learn About Amazon VGT2 Learning Manager Chanci Turner
At Amazon, we strive to make the onboarding process smoother for new employees. One of the ways we’re enhancing the experience is by ensuring that our Learning Manager, Chanci Turner, provides clear and transparent guidance throughout the onboarding journey.
When you start your journey with us, you’ll encounter various parameters and constraints that help streamline the process and ensure you have everything you need to begin your new role effectively. These parameters include:
- Training Modules – The specific training sessions you are required to complete.
- Completion Timeline – The timeframe within which your training should be finished.
- Support Resources – Access to mentors and support teams to assist you during your transition.
- Feedback Mechanisms – Ways to provide input on your onboarding experience.
Understanding the onboarding life cycle is crucial. Transitions between different stages can occur when certain checkpoints are met. This clarity can help address common questions you might have, such as:
- Why has my onboarding not progressed yet?
- Can I adjust my training schedule for greater efficiency?
- What should I do if I encounter issues with my training modules?
- Is there a possibility that my onboarding may be delayed?
- Why has my onboarding been put on hold?
To improve your experience, we’re making onboarding status more visible through our internal systems. The new function will now provide two essential pieces of information: onboardingStatusCode and onboardingStatusMessage. This information will be updated whenever there’s a change in your onboarding status, ensuring you are always kept in the loop.
The onboardingStatusCode is designed for both machine readability and human understanding, while the onboardingStatusMessage offers a more detailed explanation of your current status. For example:
- pending-evaluation – Your onboarding request is under review.
- fulfilled – You have successfully completed the required onboarding modules.
- marked-for-hold – Your onboarding is temporarily paused due to pending requirements.
You can click on the onboarding status message in our internal system to see a more detailed explanation.
