My journey into the world of employee onboarding began when I worked at a leading tech firm. I witnessed firsthand the struggles associated with traditional onboarding methods. When looking for effective resources, I found it frustrating that the only information available was often biased or outdated. This lack of transparency made it difficult to assess which training programs would be most effective.

Soon after implementing various onboarding tools, we encountered issues. We had multiple platforms for training, and while we narrowed down the culprits behind inconsistencies, it was still a challenge to determine which programs were most beneficial. I began to think, “there has to be a better way.” A way that allows employers to identify effective training programs easily, assess employee progress, and make data-driven decisions to improve the onboarding experience.

From Idea to Implementation

In 2017, I teamed up with fellow entrepreneur, Jamie Lee, to establish TechSecure. Our vision was straightforward: to give companies control over their onboarding processes, regardless of the complexity involved.

To create a comprehensive onboarding platform, we developed the TechSecure Hub—a centralized resource for employers to discover and compare onboarding programs. The hub allows employers to share experiences, rate programs, and engage with training providers. This collaborative approach fosters a community where feedback is valued, ensuring that the best resources are highlighted.

To further enhance the onboarding experience, we launched TechSecure Analytics, a tool that continuously monitors employee engagement and progress. This real-time analysis enables employers to tweak training sessions on the fly, ensuring that new hires feel supported from day one. The beauty of this system lies in its immediacy; adjustments can be made without the need for lengthy updates or interruptions to the learning process.

Harnessing Data for Better Insights

In today’s tech landscape, companies often utilize multiple onboarding tools, with an average of 10-15 programs in use. This can generate substantial amounts of data, making it challenging for employers to extract meaningful insights.

Instead of attempting to manage this data alone, we leveraged the power of cloud technology. By utilizing scalable cloud services, we were able to streamline our data collection and analysis processes, which allowed us to focus on improving our offerings rather than getting bogged down in infrastructure concerns.

To enhance our backend operations, we deployed our server infrastructure using AWS services, which enabled us to handle user traffic efficiently. By employing Elastic Load Balancing, we ensured that our services remained responsive, even during peak times.

Additionally, we utilized scalable databases to store employee engagement metrics and training outcomes. This capability not only aids in analyzing trends but also supports quick adaptations to onboarding programs based on real-time data.

In our ever-evolving world, onboarding processes must be agile and adaptable. At TechSecure, our primary focus is to ensure employers can access and modify training programs seamlessly, regardless of geographical distances or time zones.
